Linxon named finalist at the London Construction Awards 2025

September 29, 2025

We are proud to share that Linxon was selected as one of 14 finalists in the Excellence in Sustainability – Project category at this year’s London Construction Awards. This recognition reflects our continued commitment to delivering innovative, low-carbon infrastructure solutions that help shape a more sustainable future.

At the awards ceremony at the Novotel West London, Marcus Stone, Global Sustainability Manager, and Raj Balakrishnan, Senior Project Director, proudly represented Linxon and joined peers from across the sector in celebrating innovation and sustainability in construction.

This recognition highlights our use of the UK’s first EconiQ™ 400 kV gas-insulated switchgear technology in the London Power Tunnels 2 project—a game-changing technology containing no sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) proven to significantly reduce carbon footprint throughout. By deploying EconiQ™, we achieve the same reliability and compact design as traditional switchgear while reducing operational emissions by over 12,600 tCO2e over a 30-year lifecycle.

The LPT2 project demonstrates how sustainable design can be embedded at the heart of London’s energy system, creating a scalable model for how cities worldwide can modernize their grids without committing to high-emission technologies.

We warmly congratulate all the winners and finalists including our parent company AtkinsRéalis who continue to drive innovation and sustainability. Each achievement brings our industry closer to delivering infrastructure that powers progress while minimizing its impact on our planet.
