Västerås, Sweden — Linxon has been awarded the contract to deliver the new 400 kV Svartbyn substation in Boden municipality, a turnkey project that strengthens Sweden’s transmission grid and accelerates the country’s energy transition.
By replacing outdated infrastructure with a modern 10-bay substation, Linxon ensures reliable power transmission and supports the region’s industrial growth.
The turnkey project includes civil works, advanced switchgear, control systems, and sustainable design principles. This renewal will increase grid capacity and enable the connection of new transmission lines essential for powering northern Sweden’s expanding green industries.
“We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Svenska kraftnät through the Svartbyn substation contract. Our teams are fully committed to executing this project safely and efficiently, ensuring that the new substation is built to serve communities and industries for decades to come,”
Angel Guijarro, Managing Director of Linxon in Europe.
Construction of the substation is scheduled to begin in spring 2026, with completion expected by 2029.
As Sweden accelerates its energy transition, Linxon remains a trusted partner in delivering substations and transmission infrastructure that power sustainable growth.
