Linxon has been awarded a project for a 220 kV Gas Insulated (GIS) substation as part of the Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES)-XXVIII in the central Indian State of Chhattisgarh. The customer is M/s PowerGrid corporation of India Ltd on Behalf of Dharamjaigarh Transmission Ltd, engaging in the transmission of bulk power across several Indian states.

The contract – comprising both a 220 kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) and the facilitation of a 400 kV air-insulated switchgear (AIS) extension that will further strengthen the region’s transmission system.

Linxon has been operating in India since 2019. This latest contract adds to an existing portfolio of clients in the Tariff Bidding Segment. In February 2021, Linxon India also successfully commissioned the first 400 kV gas insulated substation (GIS) at Dhalkebar in neighbouring Nepal, an important milestone for the country’s hydropower sector.
