Linxon will expand and partially renew the Hamra 400 kV substation located in Sweden for Svenska kraftnät. This project is an essential part of the NordSyd investment program, which aims to strengthen the Swedish transmission grid and increase capacity to meet future electricity demands.
The project scope includes the construction of a new 6-bay greenfield 400 kV substation following a double breaker scheme, the partial renewal of the existing substation, and the connections for two new transmission lines. Linxon will handle all civil works, supply the 400 kV switchgear, construct new control buildings, install auxiliary power systems, and create the transmission line connections. The new substation is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, with final renewal works scheduled for completion by 2030.
This initiative will enhance the reliability of Sweden’s electrical infrastructure, support increased transmission capacity, and ensure a secure electricity supply for the region. The upgrade of the Hamra substation is a crucial element of the NordSyd program, aiding Sweden’s energy transition and accommodating future demands.
