The Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) 400 kV grid station is a landmark project commissioned by TAQA. Designed to address the dual challenge of rapidly increasing power demand from Abu Dhabi’s mega-projects and the industrial expansion within ICAD, this project plays a pivotal role in strengthening the region’s energy infrastructure.

Linxon is delivering a full turnkey EPC solution that encompasses engineering, procurement, and construction of high-voltage equipment, protection and control systems, monitoring solutions, and all associated civil and infrastructure works. The substation integrates multiple voltage levels, 400, 220, and 33 kV, alongside advanced gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), transformers, and telecom and control systems. This complexity requires precise coordination and technical expertise to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.

The ICAD grid station will significantly enhance grid reliability and support high-capacity power delivery for industrial and port operations, aligning with TAQA’s modernization strategy. Incorporating advanced GIS and Substation Control and Monitoring Systems (SCMS) ensures improved reliability, faster fault isolation, and more efficient operation and maintenance. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and robust engineering practices, Linxon is helping to power Abu Dhabi’s industrial hub and secure a resilient energy future.
