Sanad Substation, 132 kV, Emirates of Dubai, UAE

Linxon’s engineering of the Sanad substation, located in the rapidly developing Jebel Ali Port area, forms part of Dubai’s expansion of its energy network and is key to meeting both current and future energy demands. The total number of transmission substations across Dubai reached 368 by mid-2023, with an additional twenty-five 132 kV substations under construction.

Linxon’s involvement comprised a complete engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning solution. Key features were added, reflecting both Linxon’s and DEWA’s commitment to sustainability. These include a hybrid solar power system powering offices on site and the inclusion of employee recreational facilities.

The project marks a milestone for Linxon Gulf, introducing the use of precast structures, significantly reducing construction time.
