The Taibah 380 kV Bulk Supply Point (BSP) substation is a key infrastructure project that enhances regional grid reliability and plays a vital role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s journey toward a sustainable energy future.

Linxon’s delivery includes complete engineering for a 380 kV GIS substation, procurement and installation of GIS switchgear through Hitachi Energy Saudi Arabia, and integration of a 380 kV reactor. It also covers automation and protection systems, civil works, systems integration, and full testing and commissioning, all within a 21-month schedule.

Taibah Independent Power Plant (IPP), ensuring seamless integration of Gas Turbine Generator feeders and Steam Turbine Generator feeders that will support seamless connectivity with new generation assets.

The Taibah BSP will enable the efficient evacuation of 3.6 GW from the Taibah Independent Power Plant, securing future electricity demand in the Madinah region. It aligns with Saudi Arabia’s decarbonization strategies through gas-turbine localization and a carbon capture-ready design.

By accelerating infrastructure scalability, the project adds critical grid capacity to accommodate rapid national electricity growth. Designed to handle large-scale generation from the combined-cycle Taibah IPP, operational by 2027, the substation provides robust high-voltage infrastructure essential for long-term system resilience.
