“I love to see how drawings transform into a real substation”

Positive customer relationships, an unrelenting focus on safety and cutting-edge technologies are all factors that motivate Ekaterina Kozlova in her daily working life at Linxon. With a strong engineering background, she feels like Linxon is the right place for her to help build a more sustainable energy future.

“Linxon is the right place for anyone who wants to contribute to the development of power transmission grids,” says Ekaterina, who joined Linxon in early 2019. “Electric power transmission is a growing sector, and Linxon has everything it needs to expand with this sector and, ultimately, continue to contribute to a brighter, carbon-zero future.” While this vision is one of the reasons why Ekaterina is drawn to the energy industry, what attracted her to Linxon? In fact, she had kept an eye on the company since its day one and was persuaded to join up when she saw the caliber of projects that Linxon was winning. After interviewing with her manager, she was fully on board: “I realized that Linxon would give me the opportunity to apply the full spectrum of my knowledge and experience every day and support my personal growth. I decided that it was the right choice for me.”

It’s all about the customers

Striving for sustainable connectivity in the power transmission sector is also the right aim for someone with Ekaterina’s strong engineering background. She has a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and her roles have been as a design or project engineer, leading up to her current position.

“As lead engineer, I’m involved in both project and proposal teams,” she continues. “In the project team, my role contributes to building trustful and reliable relationships with Linxon’s existing customers. As a proposal team member, I aim to use my cost-saving ideas in design concepts to help win new projects and customers.”

Positive customer relationships are an important part of the job for Ekaterina. “It’s crucial to keep our customers satisfied. On-time delivery and high-quality projects are what they expect. To meet these expectations, we know we have to fulfill all the technical requirements and standards.” Another critical factor, she says, is never losing focus on safety design – and she’s pleased to say Linxon puts safety first.

Teamwork makes the dream work

She is aware that winning and completing such challenging projects would be impossible without being able to rely on her colleagues and the wider Linxon ecosystem. “On-time delivery is about good planning, collaboration and communication between project team members and sub-contractors,” she says, underlining her belief in the power of teamwork.

And she sums up, “My personal drive is to be a part of the project team and witness how everyone works to achieve a common goal. And I also love to see how drawings transform into a real substation – thanks to the cutting-edge technologies. This really brings to life Linxon’s positive impact on our power grids”.
