Linxon wins two turnkey substation orders from PGCIL, strengthening the grid in India

Linxon has won two orders from Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Government of India Enterprise and the biggest transmission utility of India.
The largest solar park in the world
The SS-79 order is a substation extension package of a 765/400/220 kilovolt (kV) substation that will help to strengthen the power transmission from Bhadla Solar Park. This power generation plant is known to be the largest solar park in the world as of 2020, with a total capacity of 2245 Megawatt (MW) spread over a total area of 5,700 hectares in Bhadla in Rajasthan, India.
The extended system is required for the rapidly growing electricity need in the region and will be adding important capacity to the transmission grid.
Linxon is supplying one 765 kV bay, seven 400 kV bays and two 220 kV bays under the substation package called SS-79.
Capacity increase in Southern India
The SS-82 order is an extension of the 400 / 220 kV transmission grid with both Air Insulated (AIS) and Mixed Technology System (MTS) substations included in the project.
These substations will help in capacity increasing and system strengthening in the Southern region of India, with an expected total capacity of 1640 MW.
The Linxon scope for substation package SS-82 involves extension of the substations at Kunta, Kolar, Hiriyur, Kochi and Tuticorin GIS substation and the increase of transformation capacity at existing Hiriyur and Kochi substation.
