At Linxon, we are proud to have once again supported Thomas Telford University Technical College Wolverhampton this year, giving high school students a taste of what we do at work. Our team was delighted to see the great interest students displayed towards offshorewindfarms, substations, sustainability, and netzero.
Our state-of-the-art design capabilities were showcased by our very own Alok Singh, while Ayan Mukherjee explained the fascinating aspects of construction. Our volunteers, including Amanpreet Singh MSc(Eng.) CEng, explained how Linxon, with the support of our parent companies Hitachi Energy and SNC-Lavalin, is contributing to the fight against various challenges facing our industry. We also delivered a strong message about the shortage of STEM skills and how promising careers in these fields can be for students who pursue them.
In addition to our presentation, there was a simultaneous Big Science Competition with participants from 5 different academies. Our Linxon was honored to serve as the chief judge for the competition. The creativity levels displayed by the students were above expectations and choosing the top 3 winners was not an easy task.
Thanks to the organizers for inviting us again and we look forward to supporting STEM initiatives.
