“In any role, I believe it is crucial to trust those around you and align the vision to ensure everyone is working towards the same goal.”

Letitia Fearon is the Global IT Business Partner at Linxon. She joined Linxon in January 2023 drawn by the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Linxon and the IT team at AtkinsRéalis, the company's IT support partner.

Letitia has had a diverse career, leading her to their current position as IT Business Partner at Linxon. After earning a degree in Pharmacology from the University of Leeds, she joined Pfizer's Graduate scheme. It was during this time that Letitia first discovered their interest in high throughput screening, managing the daily screening of thousands of compounds using automated systems. After her time at Pfizer, Letitia transitioned into consultancy, helping businesses across multiple sectors—including pharma, the NHS, publishing, and government—optimize their operations. A significant highlight during this phase was her role at Lloyds of London, where she led a team of Business Analysts, focusing on implementing agile methodologies and optimizing legacy processes. Following that, Letitia became Head of Product at a financial analytics company, before ultimately moving to her role as IT Business Partner at AtkinsRéalis, and eventually to Linxon.

Making IT work for you

“I believed I could enhance the relationship between Linxon and the IT team at AtkinsRéalis that supports us.”

In her current role, she has identified several processes that could be simplified and automated and improving these became her primary focus from day one.

For Letitia, the key to success lies in trust and alignment. Whether in a leadership role or not, she believes that effective communication and mutual trust are essential for achieving any goal.

“For me, it’s important to have a job where continuous learning is possible and where I can share my experiences with those who wish to follow a similar path. I always strive to simplify and streamline processes, bringing people on the journey with me.”

When in a leadership role, Letitia emphasizes the importance of being open to new ideas and feedback. She is a strong advocate for listening to team members and fostering a collaborative environment. Her leadership style focuses on empowering others and working together to solve problems.

Linxon: A place to grow and make a difference

Letitia feels that Linxon has many positive attributes and values that make it a great place to work.

“One of my highlights is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, where old laptops in India were donated to local charities. Initiatives like this can have a significant impact on the surrounding community, and I’m glad to be part of making a difference.”

Linxon’s impetus on employees’ personal growth by offering opportunities to explore different roles and locations, which facilitates career advancement within the company, is another positive attribute of  the company that she values. “I’m also proud to work for a company that is trying to power a carbon-free planet.”

Letitia strives to make IT as seamless as possible for all employees. “If I’m doing my job well, everything just works, allowing you to focus on your tasks. I collaborate with the Hubs to identify areas for improvement and work with them to simplify IT processes.”  On a day-to-day basis, she collaborates with teams across the company to identify areas where IT processes can be improved, simplified, or automated. The ultimate goal is always to increase efficiency and streamline operations.

What excites Letitia most about working at Linxon is the variety of challenges they face daily. Whether it’s finding ways to improve IT systems, collaborating with teams across departments, or learning something new, there’s always something different to tackle.

“Every day is different for me; I learn something new and find areas for improvement. I enjoy the autonomy I have to make changes that enhance IT for Linxon,” she says.

Looking ahead: The future of IT at Linxon

Looking ahead, Letitia is enthusiastic about Linxon’s future. With so much potential for innovation, she is thrilled to be part of this journey and looks forward to contributing to the company’s ongoing success.

“It’s an exciting growth area, and I’m eager to see IT evolving and how this can support Linxon’s growth,” she adds.
